Sadhu Pullaiah Maharaj, grandfather of Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar and father of Shri Rapolu Rajaram is native of Kodakandla village of Nalgonda zilla of Warangal subedari in esrtwhile Nizam Hyderabad state of Deccan.
Rapolu Pullaiah, a designer weaver of silk sarees, who could not feed his family, undertook in 1930s, his padayatra for food from his place to Solapur of present Maharastra and the then Bombay presidency, which took for them, forty five days. On the way, they had to beg for their food.
Even in Solapur, his mission for sufficient livelihood was in vain.
Then he udertook yatra along with his young wife and kids to Pandaripur, where after dipping into holy Chandrabaga, Rapolu Pullaiah started behaving strangely and expressed his wish to sanyasa yoga.
His wife and kids begged with holymen assembled there about their plight. They guided him to be reponsible about his family, make them safe and then only think of his own yoga.
After reaching back Solapur, he insisted on his life mission. Then, Rajaram in his teens, gave strength to his mother Venkataramamma, which paved way to Rapolu Pullaiah to become Sadhu.
His mission continued. He had his own spiritual experiences. Undertook wide travels along various holy rivers, piligrimmages to North and even to foreign places like Mecca. He had his followers of several places.
He lived his full life. Used to visit family now and then. In his last years, he lived in Kodakandla. He passed away there, after he seeing his grandson. Sadhu Pullaiah Maharaj, who breath his last in 1965, opted for samadhi with his own earnings, which was devoutly followed by his son, Rajaram.
